Abstract: As the computer and network evolved and linked with each other, so as the threats of security risks as each breach into the network may incur heavy losses. However implementing security on a efficient network will slow the network and its performance which may also incur losses. Therefore there is a need to implement next generation storage security. This project is tasked to build a security module for the next generation of storage security. As storage have moved to network-based, there is more need to secure the storage as it is shared among many users and more confidential information will be stored in this type of network storage. With the need for better performance and efficiency, security is neglected to enhance the performance, thus it is more vulnerable to attacks. This project will develop a solution to the current problem with network security where token-based security will be introduced to give network storage a level of security without compromising much of the performance it is build on.
