Abstract: The retail sector of Singapore is undergoing a whirlwind of change due to strong economic growth and widespread social changes. Rapid economic growth, higher purchasing power and a new lifestyle have produced more affluent and sophisticated shoppers. Despite this, the influx of upmarket department stores such as Lane Crawford has led to the retail industry undergoing difficulties.
