Abstract: Excellent quality is prosiac and existed when mankind first embarked on the simplest form of barter trade. Keeping customers satisfied through excellent product and service quality is the basic ground rule of successful business ventures. The frenzy to control cost, to gain market share, and other more fancy concoction of management academics in the 1980s had lured businesses from the golden rule. Now, the phrase "customer should be King" is once again echoed in the boardrooms of the once glorious companies such as IBM, P&G, GM and Chrysler. Businesses are getting back to the basics- creating market transactions which would give rise to satisfied customers.
