Promoting Singapore as a tour is destination requires a systematic approach towards understanding the situation of the tourism industry through careful analysis of the determinants of this industry. From the analysis of these determinants, the visitors ' needs and wants can then be identified for a good marketing plan to be formulated and implemented. Since the tourism industry is a complex entity that involves other supporting industries, the role of the major players will have to be examined in order for a synergy to take place. The trends in the overseas visitors ' arrivals are analysed and strategic plans are drafted to guide Singapore to attract more overseas visitors in the future.en_US
