Title: | Web-based mathematics assessment system | Authors: | Loh, Mun Wah | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Computer science and engineering::Mathematics of computing::Mathematical software | Issue Date: | 2014 | Abstract: | To improve mathematics skill, students purchase multiple books and papers to practice more questions. As more questions are practiced, more answers are required to be checked. This process of buying books, doing questions and checking of answers is repetitive, costly and time-consuming. Therefore, this project aims to develop a web-based mathematics assessment system that provides a series of past year paper s, including GCE O Level and A Level Mathematics, for students to view and practice questions. This system also provides automated solution checking functionality to facilitate students solution checking process. The automated solution checking function uses different solution checking techniques for different answer types. In total, there are four different solution checking techniques proposed namely for Prove, Numeric, Expression and Text answer type. As a result, 95.8% coverage and 100% accuracy for the automated solution checking function have been achieved. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/59582 | Schools: | School of Computer Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
