Issue Date: 2014
Abstract: A drainage system of a dam drains out the excess water in the dam body. The purpose is to reduce the seepage and makes the dam more stable. This report aims to provide parametric investigation on the effectiveness of different types of drainage system. Through this project, the author use Plaxis 2D Geotechical Software provides various simulation methods to investigate the effectiveness of different types of drainage system. During this final year project, the author gained valuable knowledge through relevant research and inquisitive learning. This project had highly supplemented the author's insights in the foundation engineering area. It was undoubtedly a beneficial and educating experience.
