This paper analyses the internal make-up and external environment of the shipping and logistics companies in relation to their suitability in project cargo transportation. The objective of this research is to allow various transport service providers to ascertain the feasibility of managing project cargoes as an asset to their business, and also enable them to make strategic decisions that enhance their competitiveness in this niche market. This research will involve the use of primary and secondary sources of qualitative information from academic literature and interviews respectively. Quantitative data from market research reports will also be used.
