Title: Investigating flexibility in air traffic management systems

Abstract: The objective of the project is to investigate the flexibility in the air traffic management system. Using optimization model and methods of solving used in Operations Research, a solution is derived and created by investigating the current situations that the air traffic management system faces. Understanding the rapid increase in air traffic across the world, models derived from the project helps to look into possibility in improving flexibility in the air traffic management and thereby give a better chance of reacting to any given situations occurring during the daily air traffic management. Simple models have been derived and used within the project to simplify the complexity within air traffic management and allows a build up towards a better investigation in the future.
