Title: | A statistical assessment of solar power contribution to EV | Authors: | Boey, Kai Ming | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Electric power::Auxiliaries, applications and electric industries | Issue Date: | 2014 | Abstract: | This project aims to determine the viability of a battery swapping station with contribution from solar power. Total daily solar energy of the station can be predicted using present solar irradiation data. Besides that, total station energy requirement was predicted using average mileage travelled by vehicles. With these two data, the energy deficit which needs to be obtained from the grid, which is one of the major costs in the running of a battery swapping station, can also be predicted. Finally, the sizing of the capacity of the various components that make up a battery swapping station is also discussed. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/60184 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
