Title: | Finite element analysis using ANSYS for an industrial application | Authors: | Mak, Kwong Sooon | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Materials::Mechanical strength of materials | Issue Date: | 2014 | Abstract: | This report documents the methodology of finite element analysis (FEA) using the software application ANSYS Workbench to simulate two designs improvement concepts, for an existing design issue of an Interface Stem component used in an electric actuator before any physical implementation of the final concept design. Although ANSYS Workbench cannot fully replace trial and testing of physical designs, but it can be used to simulate physical conditions and provide a detail analysis of the design. Therefore providing improvement opportunities and allowing changes to designs in a virtual environment before physical testing and trial of the design concept. Thus reducing the overall time and cost of performing prototype testing. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/60263 | Schools: | School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering | Organisations: | FMC Technologies Singapore Pte Ltd | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
