Title: | An energy conservation approach to analyse the impact of BESS on network frequency stabilization | Authors: | Li, Longtai | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering | Issue Date: | 2014 | Abstract: | This is the final report for project A1108-131 ‘statistical approach to analyst the impact of battery energy storage system (BESS) of EV on network frequency stabilization. This report extended on the previous work on modeling the battery system on electric cars, specifically the discharging and charging process of BESS to minimize energy loss due to internal impedances. The report analyzed a simple 2 battery & 3 battery system and correlate the maximum efficiency of the system to the discharging or charging current. Thus the report found a general discharging and charging currents pattern with respect to battery’s state of charge levels in order to minimize the loss. This report will describe the background theory, previous work, and how the projects are initiated, progressed and completed. Through this process, the author’s own learnings and findings will be demonstrated. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/60491 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
