Abstract: Flexure bearings play a major role in the field of ultra-precision mechanical design. Among various design choices, the notch-based is relatively simple to implement and integrate into more complex mechanisms, but it suffers form a limited deflection range. Hence, a more compliant bearing using flexures in a cross form can be chosen for hinges requiring large deflections with is robust.
