|Title:||Collaborative engineering for the hard disk drive industry in Singapore||Authors:||Tay, Brian
|Keywords:||DRNTU::Engineering::Manufacturing||Issue Date:||2003||Abstract:||With globalization, there are increasing competitive pressures to reduce the time to market for every industry. This is particularly more significant for the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) industry, given the numerous short life-cycle products that characterize the industry. The advent and proliferation of the Internet presents an opportunity to reduce the time-to-market in the HDD industry. With the initiation and set-up of a Collaborative Engineering Portal for the HDD industry in Singapore, the Data Storage Institute (DSI) plans to provide effective integration of I-IDD manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and third-party providers for full-scale design and manufacturing activities.||URI:||http://hdl.handle.net/10356/60539||Fulltext Permission:||restricted||Fulltext Availability:||With Fulltext|
