Title: | Traffic monitoring system | Authors: | Kyi Kyi, Htwe @ Thandar Win | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering | Issue Date: | 2014 | Abstract: | Singapore is a small island with highly dense population and one of the busiest ports in the world. The traffic flow is very heavy during peak hours. To control the increasing traffic congestion becomes an essential issue to be resolved in real time traffic signal control. Traffic monitoring system is one of the systems which can be used to control real time traffic signal and it is more necessary than the past to be more accurate and precise. With the help of traffic monitoring system, can alert users on the traffic flow under different weather. This project is a simulation model for counting the vehicles along the path through image processing techniques in Matlabs environment. Video and image processing algorithm is used for this final year project design. The project involves object feature identification, detection, tracking and counting objects. This report will take the readers through the process of understanding the principle of the traffic monitoring system and the concept behind building a traffic monitoring system. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/60694 | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
