Abstract: Product platform design has been proven an effective customization strategy for companies to provide 'their multiple product offerings in a cost-effective manner. Common technical assets are properly leveraged between platforms or shared between product variants. This thesis proposes an integrated framework within the scenario of market segmentation, which decides the inter-platform leverage against platform differentiation and the intra-platform design towards the minimal production cost.
