Abstract: This project studied the initial responses when an arch structure is subjected to an internal explosion, using LS-DYNA software. The initial response of arch structure using Simplified CONWEP model, was used to compare with the initial response of Earth Covered Composite Arch (ECCA) using CONWEP model. Two loading densities, 2.5 kg/m3 and 10 kg/m3 of Trinitrotoluene (TNT) were introduced in this study. Comparison was done between two LS-DYNA concrete materials to provide some guidance for users with limited experience on concrete and LS-DYNA software. Elastic and Plastic deformation were also studied to understand the behaviors between them. The result of this study concluded that 2.5 kg/m3 of TNT are the maximum storage density.
