dc.description.abstractDespite the advantages in analytical accuracy and design economics, the practical complexity and procedural intricacy are limitations that need to be addressed in order for the effective and efficient utilisation of EN 1993 - Eurocode 3. These limitations can be overcome by having associated computer-aided structural design tools, which are slated to be in high demand in countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Russia and the European Union, where there is (or soon to be) statutory mandated use of Eurocode 3 in the design of steel structures.en_US
