Abstract: This report presents a case study of the behavior of Thermo Mechanical Controlled Process (TMCP) steel plates under Post Weld Heat Treatment. Welded steel plate undergo deterioration of mechanical properties due to microstructure changes induced by welding. As a result, welding will induce a source of weakness in steel structures. However, Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) is believe to be able to recover most of the lost material properties induced from welding. Therefore, the main aim of this study is to study the behavior of TMCP steel plates under PWHT and obtain the best parameters needed to remedy weakness induced by welding.
