For the last century, the car culture has spread over the entire globe. As much as any other product, the car has shaped not only the global economy but how billions of people live. In the current century, having a car is a necessity for every household hence increasing the demand for motor vehicles. In addition, global warming and pollution has been an increasing issues globally which doesn’t only leave an impact on human’s health, but also affect the world’s life integration as a whole. Increasing in motor vehicle demands relates to an increase in oil consumption hence leading back to global warming and pollution. Various solutions has been brought up and one of the trending solution is the usage of electric vehicles as a substitute for daily usage. This project is Nanyang Technological University’s (NTU) effort in contributing to the research and development of an electric vehicle which is designed by students. Due to vast ‘Green Technology’ campaign which has increase the awareness among researchers, electric vehicles are gaining popularity. The NTU Built Electric Vehicle (BEV) is targeted for use mainly in cities and is being designed from scratch. The author’s role in the NTU BEV is to design the chassis and to integrate various components of an electric vehicle. Some theory on the manufacturing process will be addressed as it aids in understanding the reason of such design process.en_US
