Title: | Literature study on air pollution detection and environmental protection using nanotechnology | Authors: | Xu, Xiao Zhao | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering | Issue Date: | 2014 | Abstract: | Fresh air, like water and energy, is one of the livelihoods for human being live. However for a long time, human have been taking fresh air for granted and it has been deteriorating tremendously since the industrial revolution. Advancement in technology not only brings about the innovations in numerous fields but it also brought with it the major causes of air pollution to our earth today. Global warming, acid rain, and the deterioration of the ozone layer are caused by air pollution, which is a major health and environmental problem. The presence of these environmental problems makes achieving the goal of clean air for the future a challenge. Gas detection equipment is being used widely throughout the world to monitor air pollution in the field of safety, health and control system. This report aims to introduce the application of gas sensor, the effects of air pollution on our environment, and why gas sensors are required in this modern era. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/61004 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
