Authors: Lo, Suan Theng.
Keywords: DRNTU::Engineering::Mechanical engineering::Bio-mechatronics
Issue Date: 2005
Abstract: In this project, the current method of handling the sputum specimens till diagnosis and the amount of risk exposure to the healthcare worker are studied. A new device to collect, process and analyse sputum samples of suspected TB patients has been designed and developed. This is especially useful for rapid screening purposes. This new collection device significantly reduces the risks and number of steps involved in detecting the class III bacteria.
