Issue Date: 2014
Abstract: Driving simulator has been widely used for various aspects, such as driving training course, Human-machine interface application, medical research entertainment, etc. A typical driving simulator contains a screen for road simulation and a pedal and wheel for driving simulation. This project aims to develop an integrated 3D driving simulation that can be controlled by keyboard, pedal and wheel, or any instruction that translated from EEG signal, hand gesture or other. This project can be used to experiment the accuracy of Electroencephalography signal as well as a training course for driving education. In addition the 3D driving simulation can test the concentration level of the driver by sending distraction like pedestrian on road. This project covered all the basic functionalities development required in a driving simulator, including how to build a 3D environment, how to assemble a car, design of the GUI and the implementation of a distraction.
