Authors: Liu, Dong

Issue Date: 2014
Abstract: Nanotechnology is a new emerging research area with great potential. With the development of nano-manufacture, it’s possible to fabricate nanomachines in bio-hybrid ways. However, single nanomachine has limited capabilities in terms of power consumption and computation ability. Hence, it is a must to discover a new paradigm of communication networks, nanonetworks. In order to investigate nanonetworks, general theories about nanonetworks and molecular communication are necessary. This project starts with introduction of this background and with the help of N3Sim, diffusion-based molecular communication model is investigated. The research results in this paper include diffusion-based molecular communication LTI channel property, pulse shaping, modulation scheme, and nano-MAC protocol.
