Abstract: As part of the iNEMO innovation challenge, this project focuses on the integration of a surveillance ball using the inertial module that is provided by STMicroelectronics, which consists of a three-axis gyroscope, three-axis accelerometer and three-axis magnetometer. The purpose of the surveillance ball is to aid police personnel in knowing what’s happening inside a room, which risking oneself from getting injured or killed. This report details the mechanical development of the three-axis gimbal system that is used to stabilize the camera, the hardware development on the designing the PCB and finally the software development in programming and making the product to work as a whole. Limitations as well as development difficulties will all be discussed. The application makes use of the rotation information of the sphere and is then translated to control the motors that are attached. By controlling the motors, the camera will be kept stabilize with the horizontal axis and images are then taken and send to the user.
