Abstract: During these days, security is becoming a big concern for people, since there are more asset to be lost than ever and it’s easy to notice that CCTV plays a vital role in security surveillance. CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) is a system that use video cameras to record and transmit signal to a specific place, on a limited set of monitor. CCTV was first installed by Siemen in 1942, since then many improvements had been made as technology advanced significantly. One of the most important technological advances is mobile devices. Mobile devices nowadays are equipped with powerful hardware that enables CCTV system to migrate from fixed hardware such as PC to mobile device like phone and tablet. In this project, focus is placed on developing a web application to control CCTV system. An advantage in using web application is that any device can access using popular web browsers such as: Google Chrome, Firefox and Safari. A CCTV system is set up in EEE Information System Research Lab, the web application are able to view live stream from CCTV, control PTZ camera, recording and view video. All will be on a Window server so any device can utilized it by connecting to its IP address. Web-based application is chosen because of its adaptability on many operation systems. The project goal is to develop an application for tablet, there for using web application is a choice that can satisfies all iOS, Android or Window tablets. Although the project has much to be improved, it shows that the core of product is ready to be implemented and not only for CCTV control but also for other image analysis project that require controlling of CCTV.
