dc.description.abstractMedium voltage drives are mainly use in industrial market and they are used increasingly in petrochemical industry, mining industry, steel and metal industry and transportation industry to conserve energy, productivity increase and improvement in quality of products. This report will present a technology review of the different types of topologies of rectifier and inverter used in industrial medium voltage drives. In this active and busy industries, different topology of converters and circuits to suit the application on the market. In this report, it will cover the common rectifier topologies that are used: (i) Multipulse diode rectifiers (ii) Multipulse SCR rectifiers (iii)Pulse-width-modulated (PWM) rectifiers And hence there are also different types of inverter that are used: (i) Voltage source inverter (ii) Current source inverter (iii) Cyclo-converter In addition, analysing theen_US
