Abstract: In this project, a Wi-Fi Correction Scheme is proposed so the SparseTrack System is modified. The modified SparseTrack System consists of two sub-systems: the Dead-Reckoning Sub-System and the Ranging Sub-System. The Dead-Reckoning Sub- System is used to track pedestrian’s locations and the Ranging Sub-System is used to do the range correction. And then the particle filter is applied to constrain the cumulative errors from the Dead-Reckoning Sub-System. Experimental results show that this modified SparseTrack System can reduce the cumulative errors by around 35% on average.
