Title: Industrial attachment report with ExxonMobil

Abstract: For the industrial attachment with ExxonMobil Asia Pacific which lasted from 9 Jan 2012 to 9 June 2009, the author was placed under the Singapore Site Maintenance, Machinery department. This department is in charge of the maintenance, servicing and repairing of all rotating equipment in the refinery (both onsite [S3] and offsite [S4]). This report aimed to share light on some of the concepts that the author had grasped during this period of attachment such as, knowledge on pumps, Mechanical seals, Loading arms as well as a write-up on projects that he had been invloved with. The author will then conclude the report by sharing his thoughts on the contributions he had made and the invaluable experience that he had gained from this attachment. The author was exposed to the real engineering field where he got a feel about how is it like to be a maintenance engineer as well as have a better understanding of the job scope. During the attachment period, he was able to utilize some of the knowledge that he had acquired in school in his work and also gained much valuable knowledge that were not or can never be taught in school. Overall, the industrial attachment had provided him a good opportunity to learn more about practical mechanical engineering work and also gained hands-on experience in a well-organized and reputable company.
