Abstract: As technology advances, mobile devices these days are getting smarter. It includes wide range of sensors and components that do not exist in traditional PC. In recent years, the global sales of smartphone outpacing those of laptop and desktop have resulted in an increase in smartphone users. Besides, E-commerce industry has also experienced stable growth throughout the years. Since 2011, the worldwide Business to Consumer (B2C) sales have increased by nearly 200 billion each year and this trend is expected to continue. By exploiting the current market trends and new capabilities found in current generation of mobile devices, it has given us the opportunity to develop a brand new application that can have an impact on the way people buy and sell their products. The main objective of the project is to develop a user-friendly and visually appealing mobile application called DealsInterest that will provide seller with a platform to list their products and for buyer to search for the products of their interests. The application will exploit the capabilities of a smartphone such as image capturing, instant messaging, barcode scanning, social sharing, mobile wallet and location awareness and integrate all these seamlessly into an application to provide user with an entirely new experience of doing e-commerce. The application includes a search system that allows users to search for product through keyword, location and barcode. To encourage interaction between seller and buyer, users are able to communicate privately with one another via the built-in instant messaging feature. The application also consist of many other features such as electronic payment, social sharing via Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and feedback system.
