Abstract: This report presents a Final Year Project involve the development of an interactive software to allow users to calculate the Shear Force and Bending Moment of a static beam. It can also plot the shear force diagram and bending moment diagram with precision. Java was selected as the programme language for the project. Java is an open source software and is able to run on most platforms. Eclipse IDE for Java Developers is used to develop the interactive software. The software is able to meet the required objective although there are some limitations in the software. Discussions on the capabilities and limitations of the software can be expected, followed by possible real scale applications.
