Abstract: The fundamental objective of this paper is to compare and contrast against two detectors on interest point image recognition. The two different detectors using in this report are ROLG (Rank Order Laplacian of Gaussian) filter, a weighted rank order filter and SIFT (Scale-Invariant Feature Transform) detector, linear filter based detectors. Experiments on face recognition using face images, different types of images had conducted and studied to find out the limitations, robustness, performance, advantages and disadvantages of two different detectors approach.
