|Title:||重获新生的晋江会馆 ： 推广与文化活动 = The revival of Chin Kang Clan Association : education outreach and cultural activities||Authors:||陈利军 Tan, Doreen Li Ching||Keywords:||DRNTU::Humanities::Language::Chinese||Issue Date:||2015||Abstract:||宗乡会馆在新加坡历史上扮演了重要的角色。为了适应新加坡的大环境，新加坡晋江会馆不断地改变。为了解决失学问题，晋江会馆在 1947 年创办晋江学校，为当时的学童ᨀ供正规小学教育。晋江学校自 1947 年至 1975 年，它培育出上万名学生。但由于新加坡在独立初期推行的政策迫使晋江学校的关闭，让晋江会馆换方向，投入了推广文化活动。因此晋江会馆在 1976 年，成立了康乐股，积极推广中华文化及活动。至今，晋江会馆康乐股已有 39 年的历史。进入 21 世纪，新加坡晋江会馆为了推动华文教育，在 2006 年重新开办了晋江学校。第二阶段的晋江学校不是正规小学，而是传承中华文化的媒介，学生的年龄层从 4 岁至 80 岁不等。1947 年至现今，晋江会馆的种种应变对策显示了它适应大环境的努力。Chinese clan associations have played a very important role in the history of Singapore. To adapt to Singapore’s ever-changing environment, Singapore Chin Kang Huay Kuan made many changes to suit the needs of the society and population. To help alleviate the education problems in Singapore after World War II, Chin Kang Huay Kuan set up the Chin Kang School in 1947 to provide primary education to young children and to provide education to over aged students whose education were affected by the war. From 1947 to 1975, Chin Kang School has educated over 10000 students. As the society developed and the policies put forth by the Singapore Government, Chin Kang School had to close down in 1975 due to low enrolment rate. Chin Kang Huay Kuan then changed its direction and set up a Leisure unit to promote traditional cultural activities amongst people. Until today, Chin Kang Huay Kuan’s Leisure unit has a history of 39 years. Entering 21st century, Chin Kang Huay Kuan reopened Chin Kang School to promote the learning of Chinese language and culture. Though not a standard primary school, it serves to promote Chinese culture to people of ages 4 to 80.
