Abstract: An intracranial stent, intended for delivery into the torturous blood vessels in the mid brain, was designed and evaluated in ABACUS using a simplified linear elastic model of nitinol. Utilizing nitinol's unique properties and incorporating design features that allowed lateral stretching and compression, it had the flexibility to overcome the small bend radius of the intracranial vessels.
