Title: | High performance data processing systems in cloud (Part 3) | Authors: | Htut, Phu Mon | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Computer science and engineering::Information systems::Information systems applications | Issue Date: | 2015 | Abstract: | In universities, the professors and staffs are assigned to the respective faculties. Furthermore, within a faculty itself, the faculty members are assigned to specialized departments. Traditionally, the grouping of faculty members to various departments is decided by Human Resource Department by considering various aspects such as the fields, research and projects that the faculty members had worked on as well as their experiences and interest. Over the past years, data mining technologies have gained popularity as precious knowledge and patterns can be discovered from data by applying the data mining techniques on data. Inspired by the data mining and knowledge discovery systems, the project aims to explore the use of the data mining techniques on the data related to faculty members to make the process of grouping the faculty members more efficient. Specifically, the project builds a system that will analyze the papers written by the faculty members to get data about them and use the clustering algorithms to amass the faculty members with similar interests into groups. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/62621 | Schools: | School of Computer Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
