Issue Date: 2015
Abstract: This project is an exploratory implementation of home security system using Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). Two modes of communication in WSN are explored, XBee Series 2 and nRF24L01+. Existing monitoring systems are invasive, thus this home security system will activate the surveillance camera only when required. The system uses novel methods as security mechanisms. Homeowners will be able to control the security system via the Internet. The homeowners and WSN are kept in sync while keeping energy consumption to the minimum. Real- time notifications are sent to homeowners through their web browsers. This system is flexible while satisfying the security expectations of an IoT application.
