Abstract: Palmistry is one of the oldest subjects in China. In this world, there is no people has the completely the same palm print with another’s, but still have the similar palm print pattern with everybody’s palms. From these palm print pattern, we can find a lot of information. Experience and practice summed up by our predecessors during a long period of time, in order to observe and facts. Hand shape, pattern and color can reflect the body health, also show the person’s psychology, character and trend of fate. Nowadays, with the rapid development of information technology and network technology, the palm print recognition technology is one of the most important research focuses in the area of Biometrics identification technologies and widely used in these years. A palm print refers to an image acquired of the palm region of the hand. But sometimes the people may not provide clear image because of the environment, weather, background, and even different seasons. These objective factors will affect the accurate of palm print extraction. This paper will talk about the basic palmistry with palm reading and extension with image processing of auto white balance to correct the image illumination compensation by using the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010. Three different auto white balance algorithms are implement in this program.
