Today’s design is infused with more considerations about user experience. New digital products are not merely smartphones and tablet computers. There are also devices for outdoor sports, such as cycling. This paper aims to introduce the process of designing a new product for long-distance cyclists, especially those cycling in harsh conditions. It starts from the inspirations to the design principles and explorations, followed by the specifications of hardware and user interface design.
