|Title:||Encounter||Authors:||Chua, Zonghan||Keywords:||DRNTU::Visual arts and music::Painting||Issue Date:||2015||Abstract:||Encounter is a series of paintings that illustrates the artist's Christian faith. It draws upon a multiplicity of art influences such as process painting, German romanticism and botanic illustration. Through these references and using iconic biblical imagery, it attempts to give form to that which is on the outer edge of the human core experience. With the influence of abstract expressionist artists, Cy Twombly, Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock, the artist develops his own stylistic approach to his work, marked by his gestural values significant to his work.||URI:||http://hdl.handle.net/10356/63306||Rights:||Nanyang Technological University||Fulltext Permission:||restricted||Fulltext Availability:||With Fulltext|
