Issue Date: | 2015 | Abstract: | This research project will attempt to explore the contemporary perception of an ancient Chinese practice, Fengshui within shrinking spaces of Singapore. Despite being around during the Zhou Dynasty (1046 – 256 BC), its basic principles and techniques have in fact, evolved to better suit our lifestyle. However, in Singapore, the majority’s perception on this subject is often related to Chinese religion or superstition. On the other hand, the issue of spatial limitations and shrinking housing spaces within the country has caused a deterioration of living quality and a need for Fengshui practices to be more applicable within these spatial limitations. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/63307 | Schools: | School of Art, Design and Media | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
