Title: | Light | Authors: | Wee, Shi Han | Keywords: | DRNTU::Visual arts and music::General::Social aspects | Issue Date: | 2015 | Abstract: | This artwork is built around the memory of a dear friend who was molested by her own father at a young age. This work brings together a group of young girls who had previously faced abusive relationships. The three different stages – fear, depression, and eventually hope, conveys a strong sense of strength and power within the girls in the face of such adversity. The emotions take form in the organic shapes of the ink, as it combines with the quotes from the girls. This work speaks of fear and courage, darkness and light, hopelessness and hope. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/63384 | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
