Abstract: This report serve to document the development process and the lab view program used in the final year project. I focused on implementing the vehicle noise monitoring system. The vehicle noise monitoring system is a system that is designed to help reduce the amount of noise caused by vehicles on the road. Due to complaints received by the National Environment Agency (NEA), this project aims to help minimize the vehicle noise, especially for residents staying near the highway and street by using this system. In this project, we will develop a vehicle noise monitoring system that can accurately determine vehicles that violates the noise regulation of Singapore. The monitoring system captures the vehicle’s number plate, video, audio, and data evidence of these violating vehicles. Due to time constraint we will focus on the loud vehicle noise capture by the different vehicles. This report will give the reader a better understanding of the whole project. It will also highlight some of the problem faced while working on this project as well as a conclusion on how to further improve the system.
