Title: | Cloud based Android asset management development | Authors: | Song, Yu | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering | Issue Date: | 2015 | Abstract: | Tracking valuable assets with the help of Real-Time Locating Systems (RTLS) is becoming more and more popular in recent years. RTLS is widely applied in many industries nowadays like medical, manufacturing, etc. This final year project proposes RTLS based on a Cloud Database to help to track the location of the targeted (tagged) assets as well as using the Cloud Storage Platform to store and backup the application data. In this project, Android application with Google Cloud Platform support is engaged to study the concept of cloud computing. Also, some research on radio-frequency identification technology has also been studied. The Android application is studied and improved to make usage of the Google cloud service.
