Abstract: The focus of this research is on young entrepreneurs in Singapore. Literature review was done on characteristics, motivations, success factors and problems of the general entrepreneurs. Empirical research consisting of questionnaires and interviews were used to develop a general profile of the young Singaporean entrepreneur. This profile was then compared to that of his Western counterpart, the older Singaporean entrepreneur as well as the young Singaporean non-entrepreneur in the above mentioned aspects. Finally, solutions were recommended for the prominent problems faced by the local young entrepreneurs in the start-up, operational and personal levels.
