dc.description.abstractThe evaluation of structural reliability is essential for both of the design and operation stage of the dynamic system. During the design stage, attention has to be paid to the uncertain factors that influence the safety issues of system. Hence, besides the uncertain excitation undergone by the structure needs to be considered, the structural model uncertainties due to modeling errors should also be taken into account. Consequently, the structural system robust reliability has been computed. During the operation stage, the system condition may alter progressively that causes a great reduction of its reliability. Therefore, reassessment of the reliability of the system plays a significant role in providing the estimate of updated reliability to determine possible unsafe structures after it has been constructed by observing its dynamic response. The main objective of this report is to update the structural system robust reliability using dynamic vibration data given proposed method with the assistance of Monte Carlo Simulation and Bayesian model updating based on Gibbs sampling algorithm. Application of the methodology to an example of 4-DOF shear building model is used to express the efficiency of proposed method.en_US
