Title: Design and development of an interactive POV volumetric 3D display system

Abstract: This FYP report is to discuss the design and development of an interactive rotational multicolor volumetric 3D LED display system. Based on POV effect, stable multicolored volumetric 3D patterns and animations could be displayed and the display pattern could also interact with background music. In this report, 3D display principles and varies realization technologies are introduced, followed by Detailed hardware design, which consists mechanical module; display module and interactive communication module, and software design, which contains two different types of display algorithm, of this volumetric display system. The procedures of building prototype as well as final system are also introduced; meanwhile system failures and solution in implementation are discussed. The demonstration shows that this 3D display system is able to display interactive volumetric 3D patterns and the project scope is achieved.
