Abstract: Electrowetting (EW) and electrowetting on dielectrics (EWOD) have been studied extensively over the century, both of which are attractive means for microfluidic manipulation due to its fast response and low power consumption. EWOD, in particular, is more recently developed and of better interests to researchers as it allows for higher voltage application which in turn provides a larger range of contact angle variation due to the additional dielectric coating layer used.
