Specifically, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) DC-DC converter topology is proposed. The proposed converter has the ability to accommodate any quantity of input dc sources and passive loads. It further reduces the complexity, size and cost of the system by employing a single inductor in the circuit. The operational principle and its detailed switching schemes for the input and output switches of the converter are introduced. The case study of steady‐state and dynamic characterization of double‐input double‐output (DIDO) converter are investigated. Simulation with DIDO converter model is carried out in the PLECS simulation platform for evaluation of the functionality and performance of the proposed converter.
