Abstract: In this thesis, the goal is to investigate analytically gas flow in the transition and free molecular regimes. This is achieved by introducing a new modified set of governing equations that was derived based on kinetic theory of gases using Grad's 13th-moment approach. Correspondingly, novel boundary conditions incorporating effective viscosity concept were also developed for both channel and tube flows.
