Abstract: In this project, the objective is to determine the optimized composition of the Ni/ZrO2 FGM for a nickel plate that would result in the lowest and more uniformly distributed stress in the structure under thermal loading using FEM. Temperature and composition dependent thermal and mechanical properties of the various coating mixtures were used in the FE analysis.
