Title: | Intelligent control of an UAV | Authors: | Lim, Wen Ming | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering | Issue Date: | 2015 | Abstract: | Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, especially in the area of Vertical Take Off and Landing multi-copters, are gaining popularity due to its stable hovering capabilities. It has seen increasing applications in military and civilian domain and has been a focus area for research in recent years. This project documents the design and development of such UAV that is capable of indoor autonomous operations. The project first built a Quadcopter from scratch and proceeds to add on additional capabilities to enhance the intelligence factor. The Robot Operating System (ROS) used for high level control is also explored and implemented in this project. The end result is an intelligent UAV capable of accomplishing task such as autonomous take-off, landing and navigation. This project also represents NTU to take part in 2015 Singapore Amazing Flying Machine Competition. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/64670 | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
